Director of rugby at Bristol Andy Robinson has signed a new three-year deal with the Aviva Premiership club.

The former England coach joined the club as the director in February 2013 and under his tenure the Ashton Gate based outfit gained a promotion to the Aviva Premiership for the 2016/17 season.

Stating it is a delight to be part of Bristol, Robinson is now looking forward to have a successful season in the Aviva Premiership.

"It's a great honour for me to be director of rugby at Bristol Rugby. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here since arriving in 2013," Robinson told bristolrugby.co.uk.

"We knew there was a significant challenge ahead of us to take the team back to a level where we aspired to be, but I believe we are moving in the right direction.

"With Premiership rugby on the horizon, it's a great time to be involved and to guide this squad of talented players into a new chapter for Bristol."

Chairman of Bristol Chris Booy is confident that Robinson will help the club compete at a higher level in Europe.

"Our ambition is to be a top-four Premiership club and to compete in Europe and we believe Andy - in his role as director of rugby - can help us achieve that."
