Sale Sharks have announced that flanker Ben Curry has signed a contract extension with the Gallagher Premiership club at least until 2023.

The 20-year-old made his professional rugby debut with Sale Sharks in 2016 during the Anglo-Welsh clash against Wasps and he went on to share the club's Young Player of the Season award with his brother Tom during the 2016/17 season.

“We have a great group of lads here, and there’s a very positive environment at the club." he said.

"We’re making good signings, and I’m excited to be part of the future at Sale Sharks.”

Curry represented England U18 side in 2016 and was part of the England U20 team that went on to clinch the Grand Slam during 2017 U20 Six Nations Championship. He also captained England U20 side during the 2018 edition of World Rugby Under 20 Championship during which they finished runners-up to France.

"Ben is a fantastic player and I have no doubt he will continue to get even better and fulfil his ambition of becoming an England international," said Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond.

"He is a brilliant product of our Academy and at 20 yrs of age is member of our senior player group."

Curry has played 41 games for Sale Sharks in the Premiership in which he scored seven tries.
