Bath lock Charlie Ewels will face a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday after he was cited following the recently concluded Aviva Premiership clash against Gloucester last weekend.

The Rugby Football Union released a statement confirming that citing commissioner Paul Hull cited the 22-year-old for performing a dangerous tackle on Gloucester centre Henry Trinder in the game at Recreation Ground which the Cherry and Whites went on to win 21-22.

Trinder left the field in the 47th minute and returned nine minutes later following a Head Injury Assessment.

If the charges against Ewels are proved then he will face a ban ranging between two and six weeks.

Bath are positioned fourth in the table with four wins from seven matches and are lined up against London Irish next at Madejski Stadium on 19th November.
