Bath have announced that Ireland international lock Quinn Roux will join the Gallagher Premiership club as an injury cover ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The news follows after the club confirmed that England international Charlie Ewels has ruptured his ACL leading to the first Test against Australia in Perth earlier in the month that could possibly rule him out for most of the upcoming season.

Roux started his career with Leinster in 2012 and switched to Connacht in 2015 making 100 provincial appearances for them. He recently joined Toulon in 2021 and on his maiden season with the French club he played 14 times for them.

Having made his international debut in June 2016, Roux has played in 16 Tests for Ireland with his last appearance coming in December 2020.

Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan welcomed Roux to the club.

“Quinn is a class line-out operator who offers great physicality to our options in the second row,” he told the club's official website.

“He is an established international with strong rugby experience and we are delighted to have someone of his pedigree on board.”
