Bath Rugby have confirmed the coaching panel for the 2022/23 season with Johann van Graan heading them.

Van Graan joined Munster in 2017 replacing Rassie Erasmus and has gone on to become the second longest serving coach for the club after Tony McGahan. Under him, Munster went on to reach two Champions Cup semi-finals, three league semi-finals, and this year’s Pro14 final.

He will be joined by JP Ferreira, who will take over as defence coach. The 38-year-old has already worked with van Graan with Munster and also carried out analysis for Currie Cup First Division side The Falcons in 2005 and two years later when he retired from playing, he stepped into an analyst position with the Lions.

The club also confirmed that Joe Maddock will return as the attack coach having played for them 130 times between 2004 and 2010. He also served as head coach of Canterbury and also worked with Toshiba Brave Lupus in Japan.

The trio will join Neal Hatley (forwards coach) and Luke Charteris (Line-out Coach) as they look to bounce back after a dismal 2021/22 season where they languishing at the bottom with just four wins from 22 games.
