Bath Rugby's England prop Beno Obano will be spending time on the sidelines after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

Obano sustained the injury during the recently concluded Gallagher Premiership match against Harlequins which they went on to lose 17-31.

Earlier, the club also lost Anthony Watson to a knee injury.

Bath director of rugby Stuart Hooper provided update on Obano and is confident that the 27-year-old will overcome the setback.

“This is a complex injury that takes time to recover – we will provide a huge amount of care for Beno to ensure his safe return to the field," said Hooper to the club's official website.

"His professionalism to overcome serious injuries in his career to date has been remarkable and I know this instance will be no different.

“We will support Beno through every step of his recovery journey.”

Bath currently are languishing at the bottom of the table after losing all their five matches and will face Wasps in the seventh round at Recreation Ground on 30th October.
