Ospreys have confirmed that Wales international Aled Davies will join the Pro 14 club from Scarlets ahead of the next season after signing a two-year contract.

Davies will follow his international team-mate Scott Williams, who earlier signed a three-year deal with Ospreys starting 2018/19 season.

The 25-year-old made his Wales debut during the summer tour against Tonga and was part of the side in the autumn international clashes against Australia, Georgia and South Africa.

Davies, who was a member of the age grade set up in the Scarlets region for a number of seasons made his senior debut in 2010 and has also represented the Wales Under 18 team in 2009 U18 Six Nations Championship.

Describing it was a tough decision to move away from Scarlets, Davies believes the move to Ospreys will help him enhance in his career.

"It's been an incredibly hard decision to leave my boyhood club at the Scarlets where I've had a fantastic nine years at the club and leave many good friends.

"However, having sat down a few times with [head coach] Steve Tandy, it was clear that moving to the Ospreys was the correct rugby move for me and will allow me to develop further as a player.

"I believe the Ospreys gameplan will suit my style of play."
