Scarlets will miss the services of Scotland international John Barclay for the upcoming Pro 14 final clash against Leinster at Lansdowne Road on Saturday due to injury.
The 31-year-old sustained the blow in the 10th minute of the semi-final game against Glasgow Warriors and has now undergone a surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon.
This also means Barclay has played his last game for Scarlets as he heads to Edinburgh next season after signing two-year deal with the Scottish regional club.
"We have made arrangements for John to begin his recovery and rehabilitation in Edinburgh," read a statement from Scarlets.
Barclay was already rested by Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend for the summer tour games against Canada, USA and Argentina.
