RFU Championship side Yorkshire Carnegie has signed former Sale Sharks wing Tom Arscott for the remainder of the season.

The former Bristol and Worcester Warriors player was recently terminated from Sale Sharks after he was alleged to have passed his club's tactical information to his brother Luke, who features for Bristol ahead of the Aviva Premiership encounter between the two teams on New Year's day.

Rugby Football Union also issued a warning to the 29-year-old following the inquiry conducted on the issue based on the complaint raised by Sale Sharks.

Arscott, who earlier expressed disappointment on Sale Sharks' decision to terminate his contract wants to focus in helping Yorkshire Carnegie succeed in the ongoing season of RFU Championship.

"I am really pleased to have joined up with Yorkshire Carnegie and I am looking forward to getting started against Jersey on Friday.

"It has been a tough few weeks but I am looking forward to letting my rugby do the talking for the remainder of the season.

"I have been made to feel really welcome by the Yorkshire lads and it has certainly helped that I knew quite a few of them from previous clubs.

"The Greene King IPA Championship is a tough division and it has got stronger in recent years since I last played in it.

"The lads were disappointed with the defeat against Cornish Pirates last weekend but the talk is all about getting things back on track and challenging London Irish all the way until the end of the season."

Yorkshire Carnegie are currently placed second in the RFU Championship table with 56 points from 14 games.
