Worcester Warriors will miss the services of wing Melani Nanai for the remainder of the season after he failed to make sufficient recovery from a shoulder injury.

The 26-year-old sustained the blow in December and has undergone a surgery 'to repair a torn muscle and remove a piece of floating bone' according to the official website of the club.

Nanai joined the Warriors ahead of the 2019/20 season and has featured for Super Rugby side Blues and Samoa Under 20 in the past.

Meanwhile, the club has also confirmed that winger Tom Howe is expected to be out of action for 10 weeks following a calf injury that he suffered during the Gallagher Premiership game against Wasps last month.

Worcester Warriors are positioned eighth in the Gallagher Premiership table with four wins from nine games and will face Bath Rugby at Sixways next on 14th February.
