Fresh from the club's Greene King IPA Championship success, London Welsh will be targeting more silverware at the inaugural Rugby World Club 10s in Singapore on June 21-22.

The Exiles will battle it out over two days with the likes of The Blues, ACT Brumbies, Biarritz Olympique and Cardiff Blues at the new National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub in a series of fast-paced, pulsating 20-minute rugby matches.

Saturday will stage all 12 pool matches, with a further 12 knockout matches scheduled for Sunday.

London Welsh head coach Justin Burnell, said: "It's fantastic to see the name of London Welsh once again up alongside some of the great names in world club rugby.

"The tournament is a great opportunity for the club to pit itself against two leading Super 15 sides in ACT Brumbies and Auckland Blues. The Brumbies were last year's Super 15s finalists and are the current World Sevens Club champions, having beaten the Auckland Blues in last year's final, and then you've got Biarritz and Cardiff Blues.”

Welsh's squad for the tournament is an exciting mix. James Lewis, who captain's the side, Ollie Stedman, Nathan Trevett and Ben West will be familiar names to Welsh supporters, while some of the club's new signings for next season's Aviva Premiership campaign will also be on display - Chris Elder, Cameron Goodhue, Paul Rowley and Nathan Taylor.

The side is augmented by some exciting young players recommended by Samurai.

Burnell added: "I'm looking forward to seeing a couple of young Welsh players who've been highly recommended to us to have a look at, such as Jon Lewis and Carl Townsend.

"We've also got Ollie Stedman, who's been fantastic all year, James Lewis, Nathan Trevett and Ben West, and then you've got the likes of young Nathan Taylor, Chris Elder, Cameron Goodhue and Paul Rowley who've all joined our squad for next season.

"We've got to say a big thank you to Terry Sands at Samurai. They're one of the leading 7s teams in world rugby and Terry has been really helpful.”
