Incoming Wales head coach Wayne Pivac will have his task cut out when he takes in charge of the side with them set to tour New Zealand in 2020 for a three-game series.

The Welsh Rugby Union has confirmed current Scarlets boss Pivac as the successor for Warren Gatland post 2019 World Cup and the 56-year-old's first assignment will be a game against Barbarians in December.

Following the game against the invitational side, Wales will compete in the Six Nations tournament at the start of 2020 following which they head to New Zealand for a gruelling series against the All Blacks.

The last time Wales toured New Zealand was in 2016 summer where they were whitewashed 3-0 while their warm-up game against Chiefs also added further agony with the Super Rugby side inflicting a 40-7 defeat on Warren Gatland's side.

The two teams have faced each other 34 times with Wales winning just three games out of it and their last of the third victory against All Blacks came way back in 1953 in Cardiff under the captaincy of Bleddyn Williams.
