Wales' preparations for their crucial Six Nations clash against Scotland have been dealt a setback as winger Josh Adams has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury.

Adams, who was already absent from the recent match against Ireland, has failed to recover in time and will not feature at Murrayfield this Saturday.

His absence is a blow to Wales' attacking options, as Adams has been a consistent performer for the national side. However, the team will have to adjust and find other avenues to pose a threat against Scotland.

In a boost for Wales, fly-half Gareth Anscombe has been passed fit to play after concerns over a suspected concussion sustained in the 27-18 loss to Ireland.

His availability provides much-needed stability in the backline as interim head coach Matt Sherratt looks to guide his team to a long-awaited victory.

With Wales on a 15-match losing streak, Anscombe’s leadership and game management will be vital in navigating a tricky encounter in Edinburgh.

Despite their struggles in the tournament, Wales showed glimpses of improvement against Grand Slam-chasing Ireland.

They now turn their focus to Scotland, a team they have traditionally dominated, winning 18 of their previous 23 encounters. However, Scotland has turned the tide in recent meetings, claiming victory in the last two matchups, including a nail-biting 27-26 win in Cardiff last year.
