Wales 27 - 13 South Africa, Millennium Stadium
Scorecard

Leigh Halfpenny contributed with 17 points while Ken Owens and Justin Tipuric scored a try each as Wales completed a 27-13 victory over South Africa at Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

This was Wales' third victory in the autumn internationals which equaled their previous best of 75 percent success in November Tests which came in 2002.

The first half was all about Halfpenny and Springboks fly-half Elton Jantjies as they kicked four and two penalties respectively as Wales went into half time with a six-point lead.

South Africa's scrum half Faf de Klerk was sin-binned at the start of the second half which did not help the visitors' cause as Halfpenny added his fifth penalty which was followed by Owens' try. Wales managed to stretch the lead to 14 points.

Flanker Uzair Cassiem gave some hope to Springboks with his 69th minute try and a conversion from Pat Lambie brought down the gap to seven points.

However, flanker Tipuric delivered when Wales needed the most when he crossed over in the 75th minute to take the game away from South Africa.

Interim coach Rob Howley will be pleased with the result as Wales will now head into the RBS Six Nations with some confidence but South Africa end their European tour without a win after a draw against Barbarians followed by defeats to England, Italy and now to Wales.
