The eighth round of Super Rugby AU saw Reds and Brumbies win their respective games against Force and Waratahs. Here are the highlights from the encounters.
Force 5 - 57 Waratahs
Reds briefly held the top place before Brumbies reclaimed back as they trounced Force with a 52-point victory. Andrew Ready was the lone point scorer for the Force that came early in the second half but Waratahs' win was powered by tries from Filipo Daugunu (16' and 29'), Fraser McReight (55'), Tate McDermott (59' and 64'), James O'Connor (70'), Bryce Hegarty (73') and Tuaina Tualima (80'). O'Connor also contributed with seven conversions and a penalty.
Brumbies 38 - 11 Waratahs
A powerful start from Brumbies was set up by tries from Ryan Lonergan and Andy Andy Muirhead but Waratahs with a touchdown from Jack Dempsey and a couple of penalties from Will Harrison ensured the gap between the teams remained at one point. As Force were struggling to score a point, Brumbies sealed the win with doubles from Pete Samu and Tom Wright.
