Bordeaux Begles have confirmed that Japan international Tevita Tatafu will join the French club ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Tatafu made his professional rugby debut with Suntory Sungoliath in 2020 and will head to Bordeaux at the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup scheduled this year in France.
Having made his Test debut for the Brave Blossoms in 2016, he has made 12 appearances with his last game coming in November last year against France.
“I will seize this opportunity and do my best to show my growth by applying what I have learned at Suntory Sungoliath,” Tatafu said in a club statement.
“Without thinking about the future for now, I will do my best to win the championship in this League One season".
Tatafu will arrive at Bordeaux on a two-year deal.
Sungoliath are fourth in the Japan Rugby League One standings with two wins from three matches.
