Scotland skipper Stuart Hogg and fly-half Finn Russell were amongst the six players disciplined following a breach of team protocols.

The duo along with Ali Price, Darcy Graham, Sam Johnson and Sione Tuipulotu were punished for leaving the team hotel to visit a bar following their Six Nations game against Italy.

Hogg, Graham, Johnson and Price are part of Scotland's starting line up for the final round clash against Ireland while Russell has been named on the bench with Blair Kinghorn starting at fly-half. Meanwhile, Tuipulotu was released from the Scotland squad.

"The Scotland management team have this week dealt with a post-match matter involving six players following the game against Italy last weekend," read a statement from the Scottish Rugby Union.

"The players involved have been spoken to individually and those conversations and outcomes will remain private.

"Preparations for the match against Ireland this week have been good and the whole squad is fully focussed on achieving a positive result on Saturday."

Scotland are positioned fourth in the Six Nations table with two wins from four matches.
