South Africa scrumhalf Cobus Reinach is likely to miss the series against Wales in July due to a shoulder injury.

The 32-year-old sustained the blow during Montpellier's round of 16 Heineken Champions Cup against Harlequins.

He will now undergo a surgery that will keep him sidelined for three to four months according a report in Rapport.

Reinach has played 21 Tests for the Springboks since his debut in 2014 and was part of the 2019 Rugby World Cup winning squad.

South Africa will be hosting Wales in a three-game series that will kick-off in Pretoria on 2nd July followed by games Bloemfontein and Cape Town on 9th and 16th July respectively.
