Scotland have been dealt an injury blow ahead of the second round of the Six Nations game against Wales with flanker Jamie Ritchie ruled out of the encounter due to an injury.

Ritchie sustained an injury in his hamstring and groin during the opening round clash against England which Gregor Townsend's men went on to win 20-17 to retain the Calcutta Cup. The 25-year-old went on to play 60 minutes in the game before was replaced by Magnus Bradbury.

Townsend has recalled Edinburgh's Dave Cherry in the squad for their trip to Principality Stadium on 12th February.

Meanwhile, Bath's Josh Bayliss has not made sufficient recovery from a concussion and has not been included in the squad.

"Dave Cherry has joined up with the team today".

Scotland are positioned third in the table following their win over England with France and Ireland holding the top two positions.
