Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has named a 36-player squad for the upcoming Nations Championship fixtures, with uncapped Glasgow Warriors hookers Gregor Hiddleston and Seb Stephen earning call-ups.

Scotland will face Argentina, South Africa and Fiji in July as Townsend balances senior experience with emerging talent.

Townsend has included a strong core of experienced internationals for the July series, with captain Sione Tuipulotu, Finn Russell, Zander Fagerson, Duhan van der Merwe and Darcy Graham among the key names selected.

Scotland will open their campaign away to Argentina on July 4, before facing world champions South Africa in Pretoria on July 11. They will then conclude the series against Fiji at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on July 18.

Gregor Hiddleston And Seb Stephen Called Up

The main new additions are Glasgow hookers Hiddleston and Stephen, who are the two uncapped players in the squad. They join Ewan Ashman in the hooker group, giving Scotland fresh competition in the front row.

Several senior players are close to major appearance landmarks. Scott Cummings and Pierre Schoeman are each one cap away from reaching 50 Scotland appearances, while Rory Sutherland is also nearing the milestone.
