Scotland have recalled Edinburgh lock Marshall Sykes in the Six Nations squad ahead of the fourth round Six Nations clash against Italy at Stadio Olimpico.

This was the first time Sykes was called up to the squad since October 2021 as he replaces Scarlets second row Alex Craig in the squad.

British and Irish Lions front-row Rory Sutherland also returns to the squad despite rarely featuring for the French Top 14 side since the World Cup.

Edinburgh's Javan Sebastian is also given a call up with front-row WP Nel dropping out of the side. Head coach Gregor Townsend also has opted for Glasgow scrum-half Jamie Dobie, who successfully has recovered from an ankle injury.

Nel missed Scotland’s opening Six Nations games with a neck injury but started for Edinburgh against Ospreys on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Glasgow centre Sione Tuipulotu has been ruled out of the weekend's game against Italy due to a knee injury that he picked up in the Calcutta Cup win over England while Darcy Graham will also miss the remainder of the tournament.

Scotland are positioned second in the Six Nations table with two wins from three matches.
