Edinburgh have confirmed that Scotland winger Darcy Graham will be sidelined for three to four months following a groin injury.

The 26-year-old will be undergoing a surgery next week which will effectively rule him out of the Six Nations tournament this year.

Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt revealed the news on Graham.

“We really feel for Darcy [Graham] because he is a player that puts his heart and soul into rugby," said Everitt to Edinburgh's official website.

He loves playing for this club while he is a proud Scotsman who takes great pride in representing his country.

“We’ve got every confidence Darcy will work his way back from next week’s surgery with the same drive and determination in which he trains and plays.”

Graham, who has been capped 39 times for Scotland already missed the first two games of the competition due to a quad issue and was hoping to be fit for the Calcutta Cup game against England only to be ruled out with a groin injury.

“They have been different injuries," added Everitt.

"When he came out of the World Cup he had to have an object removed from his knee. It is just unfortunate for him that it has been a string of injuries in a row, and sometimes players go through that. Fortunately for Darcy, these injuries are reparable and we will see him back to his best this season.”
