Saracens have stated that they will give England international Owen Farrell time until Friday to prove his fitness ahead of the all-important European Champions Cup quarter-final clash against Leinster to be played at Aviva Stadium.

The 26-year-old suffered a quad injury during the final round of the Six Nations Championship encounter against Ireland at Twickenham Stadium and hasn't returned to full training until now.

In the case of Farrell failing to make the cut, his club team-mate Alex Lozowski has been kept on the standby for the Sunday's game.

Meanwhile, Saracens Director of Rugby Mark McCall has confirmed that Billy Vunipola, who sustained a fractured arm in January is ruled out of the game in Dublin.

“We’ll make a decision on Owen on Friday. His chances are probably 50-50. Billy won’t be available,” said McCall.
