Newcastle Red Bulls have secured the services of Saracens hooker Samson Adejimi on loan until the end of the season. '
Adejimi has built a strong reputation as an effective ball-carrying hooker. He has scored eight tries in 14 senior appearances for Saracens and added 12 tries across 27 matches while on duty for Championship side Ampthill.
His four-try debut for Saracens against Northampton in the Premiership Rugby Cup remains a standout performance and helped establish him as a rising talent.
Head coach Alan Dickens said Adejimi’s arrival brings both depth and quality at a time when the club needs reinforcement. He praised the hooker’s development and also acknowledged Saracens for facilitating the move quickly.
“Samson is a very promising player who gives us greater depth and additional quality in a position where we need it, and we look forward to seeing what contribution he can make up here.
“I remember seeing him score four tries on his Saracens debut against Northampton a couple of years back, and he is clearly a talent.
“He has come from a good environment, and we would also like to thank Saracens for their help in arranging this loan at such short notice.”
After arriving in the North East on Tuesday morning, Adejimi said he is excited about the opportunity and keen to contribute to what he described as an “exciting future".
“I’m hugely grateful to have been given the opportunity here.
“Newcastle Red Bulls have a really exciting future, which I’m looking forward to playing my part in.”
