English Premiership club Sale Sharks have unveiled their new 2016/17 home kit in partnership with the Norfolk-based Samurai Sportswear with the iconic ‘Shark Fin’ making a comeback into the design.

In a tribute to their previous premiership campaigns, Sale Sharks have opted for a dark blue tone while adopting the white hoops from the 2015/16 home kit.

Furthermore, UKFast has made a return as the main shirt sponsor after a gap of six years, while Brandsmiths, Innside Hotels, USN and Spinningfields Retail and Residential Development are the other sponsors

The match shirt is made from the high-performance 4D fabric and incorporates features like anti-pinch underarms and a sculpted diverted side seam panelling which makes it tough for the opposition to pull the players down.

Head of UK sales at Samurai Sportswear, Mike Atkin is confident that the new design will be a fan favourite.

“For the last twenty years Samurai Sportswear have been known as a provider of truly eye-catching teamwear and the Sale Sharks 2016/17 home shirt provides no exception.

“What I like about this shirt is that it tells a story, incorporating elements of previous home shirts whilst applying upgrades that have been designed to cope with taking on the world’s best players.

“Everyone at Samurai is excited to see this shirt on the pitch and we firmly believe it is a design that will capture the hearts of the fans.”

Sale Sharks’ Director of Rugby, Steve Diamond revealed that the club has decided to retain the away kit from the 2015-16 season owing to its popularity.

“We’re delighted that our successful partnership with Samurai have once again delivered an outstanding match kit.

“I’m confident that the team and the supporters will appreciate the new design and we’re now looking forward to the new season kicking off with the kits first debut on the 9th September at the AJ Bell against Harlequins.

“Also, due to the popularity of the fluorescent yellow away kit last season, we have decided to keep this kit for another season.”

Sale Sharks, who finished sixth in the 2015-16 season with 11 wins from 22 matches, will kick off the 2016-17 season on 2nd September with the away game against Newcastle Falcons.
