Wasps have announced that prop Rodrigo Martínez has penned a new contract with the Gallagher Premiership club.

The 23-year-old started his professional rugby career with Jaguares XV in 2019 and also had represented Ceibos and Olímpia Lions before joining Wasps in 2021.

His Wasps debut came against London Irish on the Boxing Day and has gone on to represent them three times before picking an Achilles injury.

He also featured in three Tests for Argentina and was last involved in their Autumn Nations Series campaign against France in November.

“I have really enjoyed my short time at Wasps so far and I am very happy to commit my future to the Club.

"The players, coaches and back-room staff have been very welcoming to me since my arrival and hopefully I can repay them with some good performances in a Wasps shirt.

"I am looking forward to getting back playing at Coventry Building Society Arena in front of our wonderful fans next season."

Wasps are positioned eighth in the Gallagher Premiership table with eight wins from 16 games and will be facing Bristol Bears next on 26th February at Ashton Gate.
