Stormers ran a six-try riot as they thrashed Kings with a 10-41 victory in their Super Rugby encounter at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.

The win has taken Stormers to the top of Africa 1 conference with 13 points from three games while Kings languish at bottom of Africa 2 group.

Kings fly-half got his team off the mark with a fourth minute penalty but Stormers bounced back with tries from wings Dillyn Leyds and Bjorn Basson and flanker Rynhard Elstadt in 15th, 29th and 35th minutes respectively. Du Preez managed conversion only on one occasion as the visitors ended the first half with a 3-17 lead.

Du Preez extended Stormers advantage in the second with a converted try in the 43rd minute which was negated 12 minutes when Makazole Mapimpi crossed over and Cronje added the extras.

A 62nd penalty from du Preez stretched Stormers lead to 17 points while replacement Justin Phillips and centre EW Viljoen capped off a fantastic game for Stormers with a try each in the final 10 minutes to complete a convincing 31 point victory.
