Queensland Reds Brad Thorn has confirmed the matchday squad for the fifth round of Super Rugby AU game against Brumbies to be played on Saturday.

Tate McDermott drops down to the bench with Scott Malolua taking place at scrum-half. Skipper Liam Wright shifts to openside flanker with Angus Scott-Young taking his position at blindside.

The other two changes in the starting XV comes with Angus Blyth taking position at second row and Dane Zander as loosehead prop.

The bench also sees Jordan Petaia making a return for the first time since recovering from a shoulder injury while Feao Fotuaika overcomes a foot injury.

“The Brumbies in Canberra is always a tough game. They’re in strong form and we look forward to a tough contest," said Thorn.

“It’s exciting to have Jordan and Feao back in the team. They’ve been out since the start of the year and have worked hard to get back in shape. They’re two quality players and we can’t wait to see them out there on Saturday night.

“We’ve also got Angus Blyth back and then there’s fellow lock Ryan Smith who could make his Queensland debut off the bench which is exciting too.”
