Premiership Rugby is planning for a fixture in the United States soil in 2020 according to a report published in SportBusiness.

It is understood that Chicago which is also the home city of the US insurance company Arthur J. Gallagher & Co - the league sponsor - is amongst the front-runner for the fixture with an announcement expected in the coming weeks.

This will not be the first time a Premiership Rugby game has been staged overseas with Red Bull Arena in New Jersey hosting the encounter between London Irish and Saracens during the 2016/17 season.

The 2017/18 season also saw Saracens taking on Newcastle Falcons at Talen Energy Stadium in Philadelphia.

Saracens went on to defend their Premiership title in the recently concluded 2018/19 season after managing to beat Exeter Chiefs 37-34 in the final.

Widely regarded as the most competitive rugby union league in the world...it can only be the Gallagher Premiership.

The division is becoming more and more exciting as each year passes by so who will be lifting silverware at Twickenham in May?

At Talking Rugby Union, we aim to provide match reports and news together with our specially commissioned features and interviews.
