Ospreys have announced that lock Huw Sutton has signed a new contract with the Welsh province.

Sutton made his debut for Ospreys in the round four of 2021/22 European Champions Cup game against Sale Sharks after graduating through the Swansea University arm of the Ospreys pathway.

The 24-year-old has featured for the club in 17 games.

"It's great to be able to commit my future to the Ospreys. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and I’m looking forward to contributing to the team's successes and achieving our ambitions in the future," he told the club's official website.

“Similarly to Nagy, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Ospreys and Swansea University for their contributions towards my development, they’ve both been instrumental in where I am now as a player.”

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth expressed desire in Sutton committing his future to the club.

“It’s great that another young player has trusted us with their future…he is in good hands! Everyone has seen our commitment and success in developing our own and we’re looking forward to seeing him progress in the coming years.”

Ospreys are positioned seventh in the United Rugby Championship table after managing six wins from 10 matches.
