Nottingham Sign Two More

Elliot Cox joins Nottingham from the London Irish Academy

Nottingham Rugby has today confirmed the signing of two more players ahead of their next Greene King IPA Championship campaign.

Elliott Cox, 19, a promising young full back, has joined from the London Irish Academy as he looks to make the step up to Championship rugby after spending last season plying his trade in National Division 2 with the London Irish Wild Geese.

Cox said, "I was looking to make the step up to Championship rugby after playing with the Geese in National 2.  I know Alfie Malloy and Jacob Knight well and they spoke very highly of the club.  I spoke to (former Nottingham Rugby Director of Rugby) Glenn Delaney who is currently the forwards coach at London Irish and he put me in touch with Martin Haag.

"I was very impressed with Martin's vision for the team and I know that Nottingham is a top club that should be challenging at the top end of the league.  With the signings they've made I'm sure they'll be up there.

"Personally I'm looking to get as much game time and experience under my belt and I'm looking forward to testing myself at this level.  It's a big step up, but I'm going to train hard to get myself to where I need to be and hopefully I'll get the opportunity to perform.”

Nottingham Head Coach Martin Haag commented, "Elliott was part of the London Irish Academy and is another player who wants to push himself at Championship level.

"He plays mainly at full back will add to an already exciting, young, back line. Elliott has been extremely determined to take up this opportunity at Nottingham and I'm looking forward to seeing him develop with us.”

The Green and Whites have also confirmed the signing of Cameron Lee-Everton, brother of Harrison Lee-Everton who played for the club for the past two seasons.  Like his brother, he is a scrum half and he joins the club from the Northampton Saints Academy.
