Gloucester Rugby have announced the signing of Namibia international Wian Conradie ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The 26-year-old made his club debut with Namibia club Welwitschias in 2019 before switching to Doncaster Knights in the RFU Championship.

He will head to Kingsholm ahead of the new season after featuring for Major League Rugby Club New England Free Jacks.

The 6ft flanker made his international debut for Namibia in 2015 and has featured in 19 Tests including four games in the 2015 and 2019 World Cups.

Gloucester Rugby Chief Operating Officer believes Conradie has the potential to have a successful career with the club.

“Wian is a hugely promising prospect who we have identified as having real potential to perform in the Premiership," said Brown to the club's official website.

"We wanted to strengthen our backrow options and Wian is the exact sort of player that we want to bring into Gloucester Rugby.

"His physicality and work rate make him an exciting signing and we expect he will be a much valued member of the squad."

Gloucester finished the 2020/21 season of the Gallagher Premiership at 11th place after managing seven wins from 22 games.
