Lwazi Mvovo scored a hat-trick as Sharks registered a 17-38 win over Sunwolves in their Super Rugby clash at Singapore National Stadium on Saturday.

Mvovo scored the opening try for Sharks in the second minute while Garth April added the conversion to claim a seven point lead. Replacement Takeshi Hino responded with a try of his own as Yu Tamura levelled the scores 7-7.

Lock Ruan Botha and Sibusiso Nkosi scored further tries for Sharks in the 22nd and 34th minutes respectively as they managed a 14 point lead at half time.

Sunwolves bounced back at the start of the second half as Shuhei Matsuhashi strolled past the post while Tamura added the conversion followed by a penalty kick from replacement Jumpei Ogura as the difference between the two teams came down to four points.

As the game was headed for a tight finish, Mvovo scored two tries in the final six minutes while Sibusiso Nkosi notched the sixth try in the game for Sharks as the visitors completed a 17-38 victory.

Sharks continued to be second in Africa 2 Conference while Sunwolves languish at the bottom of Africa 1 Conference.
