Munster 49-13 Ospreys, Irish Independent Park

Munster came up with a clinical performance to register a 49-13 win over Ospreys in their Pro14 encounter at Irish Independent Park on Friday.

Munster now with two wins from three games are at the top of Conference A that also has Ospreys at third place after the Welsh regional side suffered their maiden defeat this season.

After the first 15 minutes went without a point, Munster were aided greatly by a sin-bin to Giorgi Nemsadze for collapsing a maul and to make things worse for the visitors a penalty try was awarded to the Irish side.

Even though Sam Davies reduced the arrears with a 21st minute penalty goal, Joey Carberry had other plans as he stretched Munster's lead to nine points with a converted try in the 22nd minute.

The trend continued as Davies with his second penalty kick got the gap down to six points but further first half tries from prop James Cronin (28') and Rhys Marshall (40') followed by a double conversion from Carbery meant the teams went into the break with a scoreline of 26-6.

Munster further upped the ante at the start of the second half with Marshall (43') and Arno Botha (46') crossed over to raise the lead to 40-6. The opening try for the visitors came in the 61st minute through Morgan but Darren Sweetnam with his 63rd touchdown ensured the Irish regional side romped home to a 49-13 victory.
