Springbok lock RG Snyman is set to be sidelined for a considerable period following his latest injury setback.

The 28-year-old sustained a chest and shoulder injury during South Africa's Rugby World Cup final win over New Zealand last month in France.

Snyman has underwent a surgery in South Africa this week and is on a rehabilitation period. Munster did not provide a timeline on his return.

He has already sustained two ACL injuries in 2020 and 2021 which had limited his involvement with Munster, which he joined in 2020 after featuring for Bulls and Mie Honda Heat.

Munster also confirmed that Calvin Nash is sidelined with a knee injury and is unlikely to feature in Friday's game against Ulster. However, Simon Zebo and Josh Wycherley have returned to training this week and will be available for selection.

Munster are positioned second in the United Rugby Championship table with two wins from three matches.
