Munster’s preparations for their upcoming United Rugby Championship clash against Connacht have received a substantial boost with the return of several key players.
Interim head coach Ian Costello confirmed that five Ireland internationals—Tadhg Beirne, Jack Crowley, Conor Murray, Calvin Nash, and Peter O’Mahony—are back in the fold and available for selection this weekend.
The fixture, scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park in Castlebar, is a critical one in Munster’s URC campaign.
The return of experienced internationals significantly strengthens Costello’s squad depth and adds leadership across the pitch.
In addition to the high-profile returns, Munster have also welcomed back Craig Casey, Jean Kleyn, Jack O’Donoghue, and Thaakir Abrahams, all of whom have resumed full training following recent injuries.
Oli Jager, who missed the previous defeat to Glasgow Warriors, is also expected to rejoin training this week, offering another timely reinforcement to the front row options.
With Connacht also chasing vital URC points, Saturday’s match promises to be a fiercely contested provincial derby, and the return of so many core players could prove decisive in shaping Munster’s trajectory for the rest of the season.
