Across his time with Cornish Pirates, Nelson has made 69 appearances and scored 39 tries, an impressive return for a hooker.
The club also pointed to the added value of Nelson’s experience following his spell with Gloucester, saying his time in PREM rugby has helped add another dimension to his game.
“We’re delighted to have re-signed Morgan. He brings a wealth of Championship experience, and his time in the Prem with Gloucester has added another layer to his game," said joint head coach Alan Paver.
"His leadership, both on and off the field, has been a major factor for us this season, and we see him as a key part of the future at the Pirates.”
Nelson also said extending his stay was an easy decision, adding that he wants to remain part of the direction the club is heading in.
“Signing at the club for another year was an easy decision. The direction the club is going is exciting and for me, I want to be a part of that journey.”
