The Cornish Pirates have strengthened their squad by securing scrum-half Will Becconsall on loan from Exeter Chiefs.
The 22-year-old is expected to be included in the match-day squad for the upcoming Championship fixture against Cambridge at the Mennaye Field.
The Pirates have faced challenges in the scrum-half position due to recent injuries. Cam Jones is sidelined with an ankle injury, and Will Rigelsford is currently unavailable. Becconsall's arrival provides much-needed depth and experience to the squad during this period.
Becconsall has encountered shoulder injuries over the past two seasons, limiting his appearances for Exeter Chiefs.
Despite these setbacks, he has accumulated 22 caps for the club, featuring in both the Premiership and Champions Cup. To regain match fitness, he recently participated in games for Exeter University.
Rugby runs in Becconsall's family; his uncle, Garry Becconsall, played as a scrum-half for the Cornish Pirates from 2002 to 2004.
