England international Marcus Smith has solidified his future with Harlequins Rugby, signing a long-term contract extension with the Gallagher Premiership club.

The 24-year-old fly-half has been a pivotal figure for Harlequins and has now committed to continuing his career at The Stoop.

Smith joined Harlequins' senior setup in 2017, making his debut at the age of 18. Since then, he has become one of the most exciting talents in English rugby, celebrated for his exceptional playmaking abilities and dynamic style.

Smith has earned 28 England caps and was a member of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Expressing his enthusiasm about staying with Harlequins, Smith said: "This club has been my home since the start of my professional journey.

"Harlequins is a special place, and I’m thrilled to continue playing my part in its legacy."

Smith has played a critical role in Harlequins' recent successes, most notably during their 2020/21 Premiership title-winning campaign, where his performances were instrumental in securing the trophy.

The fly-half’s vision, kicking accuracy, and ability to orchestrate the attack have made him a cornerstone of the team.

Harlequins' Head Coach, Tabai Matson, praised Smith’s decision to extend his stay:

"Marcus is not just a world-class talent but also a leader on and off the field. His commitment ensures that Harlequins will continue to compete at the highest levels."

Harlequins are positioned seventh in the Gallagher Premiership table with three wins from seven matches.
