Harlequins 28-31 Leicester Tigers, Twickenham Stoop
Scorecard

George Ford's series of second-half penalties sealed a 28-31 victory for the Leicester Tigers against the Harlequins at the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday.

Quins' 18-year-old fly-half Marcus Smith was impressive before a knee injury nine minutes into the second half ended his game-time as England head coach Eddie Jones watched from the spectators stand.

The game was a much-anticipated head-to-head contest between Smith and Ford as the teenage number 10 managed to score three penalties and directed the game well to help his side to a 10-point lead at the 49th minute despite the Tigers leading into the first half with a slender 2-point lead.

Scrums were messy throughout the game, as referee Ian Tempest sin-binned Ellis Genge and Will Collier simultaneously on the 49th minute.

Ford then brought all his international experience to a good use as his two penalties were enough for the Tigers to record their second successive victory in this season.

Danny Care (43), Mat Luamanu (45) and Alofa Alofa (62) scored tries for the Quins while Telusa Veainu (10), Jonny May (52) and Greg Bateman (56) returned the honors for the Tigers.
