Lyon have confirmed the signing of former Ireland fly-half Paddy Jackson ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Jackson was associated with London Irish in 2019 but was without a club since the Exiles entered into administration following financial difficulties. He also played a pivotal role for the club last season finishing as the Premiership’s top points’ scorer and overall played for them in 91 games.
He also featured for Ulster between 2011 and 2018 scoring more than 600 points for the Irish province and also had a stint with Perpignan before moving to London Irish.
The 31-year-old also has played in 25 Tests for Ireland between 2013 and 2017 while also featuring for them in the 2015 Rugby World Cup. In 2018, he had his contract revoked by Ulster and the IRFU.
Lyon were defeated by Bordeaux Bègles 25-32 in the qualifiers of the 2022/23 Top 14 season.
