Bath Rugby has announced that promising centre Louie Hennessey has signed a long-term contract extension, solidifying his future with the club.

Since joining Bath in June 2022, the 20-year-old has rapidly progressed, gaining international experience with Wales U20 and showcasing his talent on the field.

Hennessey debuted for Bath at 18 against Gloucester and has since made ten appearances, including a standout performance last weekend where he scored two tries against Bristol Bears in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

Hennessey's international journey began with Wales' U18 team and continued as he represented the Wales U20 squad in two U20 Six Nations campaigns. His commitment to Bath follows a solid foundation in Wales, where he initially trained with the Cardiff Rugby Academy before joining Farleigh House.

A graduate from the University of Bath with a Foundation Degree in Sports Performance, Hennessey combines academic knowledge with on-field skills, making him a versatile asset to Bath Rugby’s lineup.

Head of Rugby Johann van Graan expressed his satisfaction with Hennessey's decision to extend his contract, saying, “I am very happy that Louie is continuing his journey with Bath Rugby."

Hennessey is delighted in signing a long term contract with the club.

“I’m happy to be extending my time here at Bath Rugby.

“I’ve loved every minute since I joined and I’m excited to see what the future holds for me individually and collectively as a group.”

Bath are positioned at the top of the Gallagher Premiership table with five wins from six matches.
