London Irish have announced the signing of back-row Olly Cracknell with immediate effect.

Cracknell made his professional rugby debut with Ospreys in 2015 and has racked up over 100 appearances for the club after graduating from Leeds Carnegie Academy.

The 27-year-old also represented Wales Under 20 in 2014 where he made six appearances.

“I’m really pleased to be joining London Irish," he told the club's official website.

“It’s a great opportunity for me at a key period in my career.

“I’ve heard good things about the squad here and I’m looking forward to playing my part over the coming weeks and months.”

London Irish director of rugby Declan Kidney welcomed Cracknell to the club.

“We’re pleased Olly has agreed to join us," he said.

“He’s a strong player who will add to the current options we have in the back row.

“We’re looking forward to him joining the group and being part of our squad.”

London Irish are positioned eighth in the Gallagher Premiership table with a solitary win from seven games.
