Leinster prop Cian Healy has been handed a three-week suspension following his yellow-card incident in the recently concluded European Champions Cup encounter against Exeter Chiefs at Aviva Stadium last weekend.

Healy was sin-binned in the 17th minute of the game for charging into the ruck and striking the head of Luke Cowan-Dickie with his forearm and appeared before a three-man disciplinary panel on Wednesday.

The panel deemed that Healy's action warranted a red card and a minimum of a two-week ban was imposed along with additional seven days for his poor disciplinary record.

Meanwhile, Exeter Chiefs lock Mitch Lees, who was also cited for an offence during the same game pleaded not guilty of striking the head of Healy and the panel decided that the offence did not merit a red card and cleared him of the charges.
