A dominating first half performance from Pau proved enough as they completed a 24-17 win over Leicester Tigers in their European Rugby Challenge Cup encounter at Stade du Hameau.

Despite the win, Pau misses on the quarter-finals while a losing bonus point was enough for the Tigers to book a home play-off. This was also Pau's 10th consecutive win at home in the competition.

Vincent Pinto gave a head start to Pau with back to back tries in the fourth and sixth minutes and Antoine Hastoy added conversions on both the occasion to make the scoreline 14-0.

Even though Noel Reid got Leicester off the mark with a 17th minute try, Pau with a touchdown at the stroke of half time with a penalty and a conversion from Hastoy ensured Pau went into the break with a lead of 24-7.

As the third quarter went without a point, Pau suffered a setback with Geoffrey Moise sin-binned in the 63rd minute that also resulted in Leicester's try with Ben White dotting down to make it 24-14 before Tom Hardwick penalty kick in the final minute just ensured the Tigers bagged a losing bonus point.
