Leicester Tigers 30-20 Cardiff Blues, Welford Road

George Ford kicked 15 points as Leicester Tigers completed a 30-20 win over Cardiff Blues in their European Rugby Challenge Cup encounter at Welford Road.

This is Leicester's fifth win from as many games as they consolidated their top position in Pool 5 while Cardiff Blues are at third with two wins from five matches.

The Blues were quick to get off the block early with Josh Adams scoring a try in the seventh minute and Jason Tovey followed with the conversion to make it 7-0.

The home side responded back with Sam Lewis dotting down in the 19th minute that was improved by Ford but Ben Thomas' try in the 34th minute put the visitors back into lead before George Ford's penalty at the stroke of half-time ensured the teams finished the first half with a 10-14 scoreline.

Jordan Olowofela with a blistering pace helped Leicester get off the block at the start of the second half that was improved by Ford before Ben White followed the suit with a 54th minute try making it 24-17 As Ford kicked a drop goal in the 64th minute, Tovey negated his effort with a penalty of his own making it 27-20.

However, Ford ensured the Tigers' winning streak continued with his second drop goal in the game in the 72nd minute securing a 10-point victory.
