Bordeaux Begles scored two tries on either half as they completed a bonus point victory over Edinburgh in their European Challenge Cup clash at Stade Chaban-Delmas on Saturday.

This is fourth win from five games as Bordeaux-Begles occupy the pole position with 22 points while Edinburgh are at second place with 16 points.

The opening quarter saw Jaco van der Walt and Matthieu Jalibert exchange penalties as the teams had their scores levelled with 3-3 but the home side finished the first half strong with back to back tries from Semi Radradra (25') and Santiago Cordero (39'). Jalibert also kicked two conversions as the teams headed into the break with a 17-3 scoreline.

Edinburgh were quick to get off the block in the second half with Duhan van der Merwe's try in the 50th minute and van der Walt kicked the extras but his effort was cancelled by Yann Lesgourgues' touchdown in the 58th minute.

Jalibert with his second penalty goal in the 63rd minute increased the French side's lead to 17 points which increased to 22 after Peni Ravai Kovekalou crossed over in the 72nd minute before Mark Bennett's try in the final minute reduced the losing margin of Richard Cockerill's side.
