Bristol loose-head prop Ellis Genge has signed a permanent deal with Leicester Tigers after impressive performances for the English Premiership club in the last three months when on loan.

Genge, who was a Hartpury College product joined the Bristol Academy in the 2013/14 Championship season and represented the Tigers on loan and played five games for the club including the semi-final encounter against Saracens.

The 21-year-old was recently included in the England senior squad by the head coach Eddie Jones for the game against Wales and the subsequent Australian tour.

Genge has played 26 games for Bristol (11 in British and Irish Cup and 15 in the RFU Championship) and has scored 30 points overall in it.

Director of rugby Richard Cockerill described Genge as an exciting prospect and credited his performances with the club in the last three months when he was on loan.

"He is very keen to learn and has an excellent work ethic.

"He earned his opportunities in the Tigers team towards the end of the season and is in a good place to continue to learn and improve with senior props including Marcos Ayerza, Dan Cole and Logovi'i Mulipola around him.

"He is a great young prospect and he seems to have found his home at Leicester in his time on loan with us."

Meanwhile, Genge, who has represented England Under-17s and Under-20s while helping them to Junior World Championship final in 2015 said Leicester will be the perfect opportunity for him to develop as a player.

"Richard Cockerill gave me an opportunity to come here and he gave me a little run in the team," said Genge.

"It has been class, I have learned so much.

"I have really enjoyed it. I just want to keep learning."

Bristol have secured a promotion to the Aviva Premiership for the upcoming season after defeating Doncaster Knights in the two-legged final of the RFU Championship.
