Wasps have confirmed that their Australian signing Kurtley Beale will miss the Aviva Premiership final against Exeter Chiefs on Saturday at Twickenham Stadium after failing to make sufficient progress from a hamstring injury.

Beale suffered the blow during the start of the second half in the semi-final against Leicester Tigers which his team went on to win 21-20 at Ricoh Arena last weekend. Beale also scored the opening try in the game that came in the seventh minute.

This will also mean that Beale has already played his last game for the Aviva Premiership side after he has decided to head back to Australia to resume his international career following the end of the ongoing season.

In the absence of Beale, Springboks international Willie Le Roux has been switched to number 15 allowing Josh Bassett a start in the line-up.

Meanwhile, Exeter have made one change to their line-up with wing Olly Woodburn replacing James Short.

Wasps: Le Roux; Wade, Daly, Gopperth, Bassett; Cipriani, Robson; Mullan, Taylor, Swainston, Launchbury (capt), Symons, Haskell, Young, Hughes.

Replacements: Johnson, McIntyre, Moore, Myall, Thompson, Simpson, Leiua, Halai.

Exeter Chiefs: Dollman; Nowell, Whitten, Devoto, Woodburn; Steenson (capt), Townsend; Moon, Cowan-Dickie, Williams, Dennis, Parling, Horstmann, Armand, Waldrom.

Replacements: Yeandle, Rimmer, Francis, Lees, S. Simmonds, Chudley, Slade, Campagnaro.
