Former Wallabies star Kurtley Beale has set his sights on reviving his rugby career by joining the Eastern Suburbs Rugby Club for the upcoming Shute Shield season.
The veteran backline player, who has been absent from professional rugby for some time, is determined to prove himself once again and reignite his prospects of wearing the Wallabies jersey.
Beale’s decision to sign with Eastern Suburbs marks a significant step in his journey back to competitive rugby. The 34-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having earned 95 caps for Australia and been a key figure in the Wallabies' campaigns over the past decade.
Eastern Suburbs head coach Pauli Taumoepeau expressed excitement over Beale’s arrival, emphasizing the leadership and skill set the former international will bring to the squad.
“Kurtley is an outstanding player and a great asset to have on the field and in the locker room. We’re thrilled to have him join us as he looks to make his way back into the sport,” said Taumoepeau.
Beale’s comeback coincides with new Wallabies head coach Eddie Jones taking the reins, offering the seasoned utility back a chance to re-enter the national setup ahead of the Rugby Championship and World Cup.
This move is a pivotal moment in Beale’s career as he aims to reclaim his place among Australia’s elite. With the Shute Shield season kicking off soon, fans and selectors alike will be watching closely to see if the veteran can rediscover his magic and earn a spot in the Wallabies squad.
